How often do you think about how privileged you are to have six senses? From being able to enjoy your favorite food to seeing the world. What does losing a sense entail? And is the human body able to make up for the lost sense(s)?
7A and 7B took a trip to try and find out. We participated in the "Dialogue in the Dark" (Dialog im Dunkeln). As a class, we went through a “tour” where we would be tested on our blind skills. In the tour we had to go through obstacles that are common everyday things. For example, we went through a “hiking” trail, crosswalks, a boat ride and even enjoying a drink at the bar. The whole experience was also enhanced with sounds and temperatures. Our tour guides were also real blind people who were there to give us their help.
